Recital of Britten, Mahler, Saint-Saƫns and Schubert by mezzo-soprano Sarah Richmond and pianist Ian Tindale at Queen's University Belfast.
Sarah Richmond and Ian Tindale are playing a recital at The Harty Room on Saturday 31 October, from 19:30 to 21:30. It's titled Memento Mori, and it's part of the Belfast International Arts Festival, which runs across the city that autumn.
On stage it's just the two of them: Richmond on mezzo-soprano and Tindale on piano. The programme pulls from four different composers, with works by Britten, Mahler, Saint-Saƫns and Schubert. It's a mix of the 19th and 20th centuries, so you'll hear the Romantic era alongside the more modern sound of Britten.
The venue is The Harty Room, inside the Music building at Queen's University Belfast on University Road. It's a performance space known for its hammer-beam vaulted roof and warm acoustic, and it seats 120. On a normal day, it's the main rehearsal room for the university's choirs and orchestras, so it's a room that lives and breathes music rather than one that's just opened up for the occasion.

If you're heading over, it's on the University Road in South Belfast, BT7 1NN. The recital runs from 19:30 to 21:30, so it's a full evening's programme.
