Free monthly journaling meet-up led by Ian Megrath on the first Thursday of every month, with the gratitude theme.
Ian Megrath is leading a journaling session at The Crescent on Thursday 5 November, from 18:30 to 20:30. It's part of Late Night Art, the monthly night that's run across Belfast for over ten years, when galleries open their doors on the first Thursday of every month to celebrate the city's visual arts scene.
This particular session is built around the theme of gratitude. Megrath is an avid journal keeper and an analogue enthusiast who fell into journaling during lockdown, finding it a creative outlet for recording ideas, emotions and the simple joys of everyday life. He hopes to encourage others to explore it for its beneficial impact on mental health, and you can find his work on Instagram as @the.paper.sparrow.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Belfast and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

There's no pre-booking needed, so you can just turn up on the night. All you need to bring is a notebook; everything else is provided, and there's room for about 14 people to journal at once, which keeps it a small, quiet group rather than a crowded room. It's free to attend, and the session runs from 18:30 to 20:30 at Cafe Husk within The Crescent.
