Loud, musical children's panto reimagining Jack and the Beanstalk, with Kid Carpet and The Noisy Animals, for ages 3-10.
Kid Carpet is back at the Ulster Museum on Saturday 24 October, with a brand-new show that's part of the Cinemagic Festival. He's billed as a rock star legend, and he's returning to the Lecture Theatre with Jack and the Beanstalk (Sort of...), a lo-fi, hi-tech, big-beat panto that's aimed at ages 3 to 10.
The setup is properly silly from the start. Kid Carpet hates pants, but The Noisy Animals love them, so they're staging a play called A Pants — and then a beanstalk appears in the middle of everything. He's joined by Bear, Gorilla, Badger and Hedgehog, and together they reimagine the old story as a big-beat panto stuffed with songs, silliness, surprise grannies and celebrity lookalikes. It's described as part air guitar workshop, part magical mess — loud, proud and completely off its bean(stalk).

It's a family show, so it's built for the little ones to get stuck into. The performance runs for 60 minutes, and the 11:00am slot makes it an easy one for a Saturday morning with the kids. Tickets start from £7.70, and there are concessions for under-18s, over-65s and students. If you're bringing a child under 2 who doesn't need their own seat, they go in for free. The show is at the Ulster Museum Lecture Theatre in Belfast, starting at 11:00 on Saturday 24 October.
