Family workshop to make a colourful lantern to celebrate Diwali, with all materials provided.
Golden Thread Gallery is hosting a family workshop to make Diwali lanterns on Saturday 7 November, held at The Hub in Belfast. It's a hands-on session where you'll make a colourful lantern to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, and it's set up as a family activity, so it's one of those things you can bring the kids along to.
The session runs from 11:00 to 12:00, an hour's worth of making, and all the materials are provided on the day. You don't need to bring anything with you, which makes it easy to just turn up and get stuck in. The focus is on the lanterns themselves — the colourful, light-filled decorations that sit at the heart of Diwali celebrations — and you'll leave with your own finished one to take home.
It's held at The Hub, the gallery's dedicated space for workshops and events, so you'll be in a proper creative environment rather than just a corner of a larger room. If you're looking for something to do with the family on a Saturday morning that's a bit more active than the usual weekend runaround, this fits the bill. It's a single hour, so it's a manageable bit of making that doesn't take up the whole day.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Belfast and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
