Belfast Halloween week with nine giant inflatable monsters, a pumpkin patch at City Hall, the Día de los Muertos Skull Procession and a haunted ghost trail.
Belfast Halloween Week returns to the city centre on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, with the main hub at the City Hall grounds from 9am to 4pm both days. It's a bit of a spread, so you'll be moving between the grounds and a few other spots across town over the weekend.
Belfast One's Monsters Take Over is back with nine giant inflatable monsters scattered across the city centre, free to explore. Among them are Mr Snappy, Slime Monster, Goofy Eyes, Grim Fingers, Nosey Parker, Groaner and the Bezerker. If you're in the mood for something a bit more atmospheric, paranormal investigator Francis Higgins leads the Belfast One Haunted Ghost Trail, which winds through the city and finishes at White's Tavern. Cinemagic is also running Halloween screenings as part of its 37th festival, with sessions at the Ulster Museum, the Belfast Barge and QFT.
The Cathedral Quarter gets its own take on the weekend with Artsekta's Día de los Muertos. It brings dancers, drummers, fire performers and stilt walkers into the streets, alongside the Skull Procession and the Sugar Skull Crane. It's a distinct vibe from the rest of the city's celebrations, so it's worth heading over there if you're out and about.

Back at City Hall, the Pumpkin Patch has more than 1,000 pumpkins on offer. Child and adult tickets include a pumpkin to take home, while general entry doesn't, and under-twos go free. Between the monsters, the ghost trail, the screenings and the procession, there's plenty to pick from across the two days.
