Nottingham band A-tota-so, blending post-hardcore, mathrock, experimental and grunge, plays the Ulster Sports Club.
A-tota-so play the Ulster Sports Club on Thursday 22 October, starting at 7:00 PM. They're a Nottingham band that's built a name on the UK underground scene, playing the math, alternative and other interesting festivals across the country. If you've come across them before, you'll know they don't stick to one lane: their sound pulls from post-hardcore, mathrock, experimental and grunge, and they're not afraid to let those things clash.
Since releasing Lights Out, they've worked with 80 different guest vocalists live, which gives you an idea of how they approach a show — it's less about a fixed set and more about who they're bringing in to shake things up. That collaborative streak is a good way to get a feel for them: they're a band that likes to keep the line-up shifting.
They're also coming off a busy stretch of recording. Their third album is due out in 2026, so this gig sits right in that window between the old material and the new. It's a good time to catch them if you're into the mathier, heavier side of the underground, and especially if you've followed them since Lights Out.
