Outdoor yoga and sound healing session led by a rotating instructor, pairing mindful movement with singing bowls and harmonium.
Yoga & Sound is running at Waterloo Greenway through the fall, with classes on Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings. It's presented in partnership with Castle Hill Fitness as part of the Greenway's wider program of outdoor fitness, music and community events in the heart of downtown Austin.
Each class is led by a different instructor, so the vibe changes from week to week. The sessions pair mindful breath and movement with a period of rest accompanied by sound healing instruments like singing bowls and the harmonium. The rotation ranges from energizing vinyasa flows to gentle yoga, mindful movement and restorative sound experiences, so you can pick the one that fits your mood. All ages and abilities are welcome, and since the instructors rotate, you can try a few different styles over the course of the series.
The classes take place at Waterloo Park, in the Moody Amphitheater area. The park itself is part of Waterloo Greenway, a 1.5-mile, 35-acre park system being built as a public-private partnership between the City of Austin and the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy. It runs from 15th Street along the city's eastern edge down to Lady Bird Lake, linked by Waller Creek, with a 2026 completion goal. Symphony Square is already open, and Waterloo Park and the Moody Amphitheater opened in August 2021.
