Queer honky tonk pool party with Good Time Honky Tonkin' beats, drag performances and line dancing.
Yeehawties returns to the Austin Motel on Sunday, September 6, for the final splash of the season. It's Neon Rainbows' original honky-tonk pool party, a queer country gathering that brings together boots and bathing suits for an 18+ afternoon of barefoot two-stepping around the pool.
Ed West handles the music, keeping the afternoon moving with what the organizers call "Good Time Honky Tonkin' beats." Throughout the afternoon, drag performances break up the dancing, with Lady Bull Johnson making her return to the party. Lawrie Bird and Harlott host the whole thing, keeping the energy up from the first two-step to the last.
The party leans on the tagline "Ride the Bull, Ride the Wave," framing an afternoon for steers, queers, boots, bathin' suits and line dancing. It's a queer country gathering that doesn't ask you to choose between the honky-tonk and the pool—you can do both.
