WLW Hangout

The WLW Hangout is back at Cosmic Saltillo on Wednesday, September 2, from 8 PM to 10 PM. It's part of Sapphic Weekly ATX's 'WLW Austin Social' series, which turns the venue into a lesbian bar for the night. The organizers put it plainly: Austin doesn't have a permanent lesbian bar, so they make one every week.

Cosmic Saltillo is a sustainability-minded East Austin social hub with a decorated garden patio and a rooftop deck, serving premium coffee, craft cocktails, and an on-site taqueria all day. For these few hours, it becomes a dedicated space for lesbian, queer, and sapphic women from across the city to grab a drink, play games, and meet new people. The night is explicitly newcomer- and solo-friendly, and sapphic and queer women of all backgrounds are welcome. It's 21+.

If you've been looking for a queer space in the city that doesn't require a dance floor or a loud club atmosphere, this is a low-pressure way to find it. You can come with a group or show up on your own—the whole point is to connect with other queer women in Austin. It's free to attend, so you can just drop in and see who's around.
