Live blues, jazz and roots music night featuring Willie Pipkin and local musicians at The Continental Club.
Willie Pipkin & Friends play The Continental Club on Sunday, October 4, as part of his regular Sunday night residency. It's a late one, with the music starting at 9:30 PM and doors opening at 9 PM, so you've got plenty of time to grab a drink before the set kicks off.
If you're not familiar with Pipkin, he's an Austin musician whose sound starts with the blues but pulls in bluegrass, swing, jazz, rock 'n' roll, and a fair bit of roots music. He's a fixture of the city's live scene, fronting his own nights and playing sideman at several other residencies around town, and he regularly shares the stage with top local musicians. The "Friends" in the name isn't just for showβhe brings in other Austin players, so the lineup can shift from week to week.
