A mezcal-focused night at Whisler's featuring a Mezcal Cocktail Happy Hour and a Mezcal Expo with over 20 palenques on the patio.
Whisler's is dedicating a whole night to mezcal on Wednesday, Oct. 21, with Centzon Totochtin, the distillery's mezcal-focused evening. It runs from 4 PM to 10 PM at 1816 E. Sixth in Lower East Austin, and it's split into two distinct parts that let you choose how you want to spend your evening.
The first half is a Mezcal Cocktail Happy Hour from 4 PM to 7 PM, when the focus is on cocktails. If you're more interested in the spirit itself, the second half is a Mezcal Expo from 7 PM to 10 PM, which brings together more than 20 palenques—the traditional distilleries where mezcal is made—that the venue loves and admires. You can spend the early part of the night with a drink in hand and then move over to the expo to see what's coming from all those different producers.

On the patio, there's a $30 punch card that lets you sample five pours of any mezcal you like. You can buy it on the day of the event, and it's not required for entry, so you can still hang out and have a drink without it. Between the cocktail hour and the expo, there's plenty of room to just drop in for one part or stay for both. The whole thing runs from 4 PM to 10 PM at Whisler's, 1816 E. Sixth.
