Guided watercolor session for educators to create keepsakes and connect before the school year begins, led by Creative Curiosity.
Watercolor For Educators is happening at Crafternoon ATX on Sunday, August 9, from 1 PM to 4 PM. It's a guided watercolor session presented by Creative Curiosity, and while it's open to anyone who wants to join, it was built with a specific group in mind: educators whose school communities have been hit by recent AISD campus closures and consolidations. The whole thing is framed as a creative afternoon to share before the school year kicks off, a chance to make something alongside people who get what that moment feels like.
During the session, you'll work on a collection of small watercolor keepsakes. The artist provides a variety of reference images to draw from — botanicals, everyday objects, and seasonal subjects — so you can follow along with those or paint something of your own. It's guided instruction, which means you don't need to be an experienced painter to get something good on paper. The making happens alongside light refreshments, with plenty of room to connect with other educators throughout the afternoon.

Registration covers the instruction and all the materials you'll need, and it comes with a few local treats: mochi donuts from DDuk, pastries from Sour Duck Market, a $10 gift card from 7th Street Candle Co., and discounts from Clover + Maven. It's a full afternoon of painting and eating, with the keepsakes you make as the thing you take home. The session is $10 for adults 18 and up, and it's currently sold out.
