VIAL are playing Emo's Austin on Monday, October 12, with the show starting at 7 PM. They're an indie punk trio, and they'll be the only act on the bill that night.
If you're not familiar with the room, Emo's is on East Riverside, the same spot that used to be the Back Room. It's a 1,700-capacity space that opened in 2011, and it's a far cry from the original Emo's—that grubby Red River location with the tin roof, the wooden pillar mid-stage, and Johnny Cash's stool hanging over the bar. This one has spent years blending its history as Austin's metal center with its reputation for punk, alt, and indie, and it's expanded its repertoire over time to include rap and electro. The name has picked up Best of Austin Awards along the way, including Readers Poll Best All-Ages Music Venue in 2007 and 2008, and Best Rock Dancing in 1994 and 1996.
