If you've spent any time in the downtown scene, you know the name. Antone's Nightclub, at 305 East 5th Street, is one of the city's oldest landmarks—a blues and R&B venue that Clifford Antone opened back in 1975. Over the last 50 years, it's hosted B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Ray Charles, and James Brown, and it's where local names like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Bob Schneider, and Gary Clark Jr. got their start. The brand was restored in 2015 by a new team that brought the venue back to the downtown landscape with a renewed focus on making Antone's the 'Home of the Blues.'
