Labor Day kickoff party with DJ Todd, work-themed dress code and dancing at The Iron Bear.
The Iron Bear kicks off Labor Day weekend with the "U Betta Werk!" party on Friday, September 4, with DJ Todd on the decks. It's a work-themed night, so the dress code is a big part of the draw: you're invited to show up in your favorite work gear and celebrate the occupations of the community. The organizers list a few examples to get you started—construction workers, tech workers, teachers, nurses, and police officers—so whether you're coming straight from a shift or digging something out of the closet, the idea is to wear what you do for a living.
As for the venue, The Iron Bear is at 301 W 6th Street, right in the middle of downtown. It's an LGBT-friendly spot known for DJ parties, a pool, karaoke, and a daily happy hour, so it's the kind of place where you can hang out for a while before the dance floor really picks up. The party runs from 9 PM to 2 AM, which gives you plenty of time to get settled in and see who else showed up in uniform before the night hits its stride.

Since it's the start of the holiday weekend, it's a good one to hit if you're looking to get your Labor Day celebrations going early. The music is handled by DJ Todd, and the dress code is optional but encouraged, so you can go all-in on the work gear or just come as you are. The party is on Friday, September 4, from 9 PM to 2 AM at The Iron Bear, 301 W 6th Street.
