Weekly honky-tonk dance lessons with beginner and intermediate classes, followed by live music from 8pm to 11pm.
Double or Nothing Two-Step holds its honky-tonk lessons every Tuesday at Sagebrush, 5500 S Congress Ave, in South Austin. It's a full evening that runs from the first class at 6 PM through live music that goes until 11 PM, and you don't need a partner to join in.
The night is built around two lessons: a beginner class at 6 PM and an intermediate one at 7 PM. If you've never two-stepped before, the beginner hour is where you start; if you've already got the basics down, the intermediate class lets you work on the more nuanced stuff. The Austin Chronicle named them 'Best Two-Stepping Lessons,' and it's become a regular spot for a good number of Austin locals to learn.
Once the lessons wrap, the floor stays open. Live music takes over from 8 PM to 11 PM, so you can put what you just learned into practice while the band plays. This Tuesday, Hayden Butler is on the bill. Between the classes and the live set, there's plenty of room to just hang out and watch if you're not quite ready to get out there yourself.

The whole thing runs every Tuesday at Sagebrush: beginner lesson at 6 PM, intermediate at 7 PM, and live music from 8 PM to 11 PM.
