Weekly TV pilot pitching competition where performers pitch original pilots to a live studio audience at RAIN on 4th.
Turn On! is back at RAIN on 4th tonight, Tuesday, August 11, starting at 9:30 PM. It's a weekly competition hosted by Miz Zgi Zgi, and the format is a bit different from your usual Tuesday night out. Three performers take the stage to pitch original TV pilots to a live studio audience, and the audience gets to decide which one makes the cut and which one hits the cutting room floor.
That's the core of it: the people in the room double as the jury. You aren't just watching the pitches; you're the one deciding who moves forward. The show works with a rotating cast of performers, so the faces on stage change from week to week, and there's a live musical backdrop running through the night. It's less of a polished production and more of a live workshop where you get to see new ideas pitched in real time.
If you've never been, the whole thing is built around that competition. Three different pitches, one winner chosen by the room, and the rest left on the cutting room floor. Since it's a weekly thing, it's easy to drop in on a Tuesday without committing to a whole season.
