Weekly live acoustic music night at Speakeasy in Austin, featuring local artists in a relaxed, intimate setting.
Tuesdays Unplugged is back at Speakeasy this Tuesday, September 22, as part of the venue's weekly acoustic series. It's a midweek wind-down: a night of live acoustic music by local artists in a relaxed, intimate setting. The series is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
If you're just getting familiar with it, the format is straightforward. Every Tuesday, Speakeasy hosts a different local act for an unplugged set, so the lineup changes from week to week. Earlier in the series, Robert Jericho played on August 4 and James Hearne took the stage on August 25. Each night brings a new name from the Austin scene, and since it's acoustic, the focus stays on the songwriting and the performance rather than a big production.
The timing is built for a Tuesday night. Live acoustic music starts at 8 PM, and the main event runs from 9 PM to midnight. If you want to catch the opening act, you'll want to be there by 8; if you're just coming for the headliner, 9 PM is your mark. The venue is at 412 Congress Ave, right in downtown Austin.
