Weekly competitive open drag stage presented by Big Tits Bigger Dreams, where local drag talent battle for cash prizes.
The Titty Tournament is back at Oilcan Harry's this Thursday, August 27, hosted by Brigitte Bandit. It's a weekly competitive open drag stage presented by Big Tits Bigger Dreams, and the format is pretty straightforward: local drag talent battle for cash prizes, and the winners are decided by audience applause and lip-sync battles. If you've never been, it's one of those nights where the crowd is just as much a part of the show as the performers on stage.
Brigitte Bandit is the one running the whole thing. She's an award-winning drag queen, producer, and queer activist based here in Austin, and she's become a bit of a political figurehead for the state's drag community. She's been profiled by Texas Monthly and KUT, and she's drawn the attention of Republican politicians who have tried to scapegoat her. Beyond the stage, she runs the LegiSLAYtion & Liberation initiative, which tracks the Texas drag 'ban' (SB12) and supports the preservation of Roberts Lafitte, the oldest gay bar in Texas. So when you see her hosting, you're seeing someone who's as active in the city's queer political life as she is in its nightlife.

The Titty Tournament happens every Thursday at 10 PM at Oilcan Harry's, so if this particular night doesn't work for you, there's another one the following week. It's a weekly fixture, not a one-off, which means you can keep an eye on the local talent as they come back for more. The show kicks off at 10 PM.
