The Temptations

The Temptations play ACL Live at The Moody Theater on Tuesday, December 29, 2026, at 7:30 PM. They're led by founding member Dr. Otis Williams, and the set will be a run of their R&B hits.

If you're not already familiar with the name, the group is billed as American music royalty. They rank number one on Billboard's list of the greatest R&B and hip-hop artists of all time and sit among Rolling Stone's 100 greatest artists of all time. Over the years, they've earned five Grammy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Grammy, and more than 50 Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum records. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and "My Girl" entered the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998.

Their sound is built on five-part harmonies and synchronized dance moves, and that story has inspired a fair bit of other work: the Emmy-winning 1998 mini-series The Temptations and the Tony-winning Broadway musical Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations both take their cue from the group's history. Seeing them live is the original version of that.

The show is at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, 310 W Willie Nelson Blvd in Austin, and it starts at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, December 29. The venue blends an intimate atmosphere with state-of-the-art acoustics and is strictly cashless, so keep that in mind if you're planning on grabbing drinks or merch.
