The Peterson Brothers, sibling guitarists blending Texas blues, soul, funk and R&B, perform live at the Continental Club.
The Peterson Brothers play The Continental Club on Saturday, November 7, from 8 PM to 9:30 PM. The duo consists of brothers Glenn Jr. and Alex Peterson, both guitarists from Bastrop, Texas, who pull from Texas blues, soul, funk, R&B and roots music, and let the songs stretch out with jam-band improvisation. It's a sound that sits right in the middle of those styles, and they've built their name around it.
They're known for tight rhythms, soulful vocals and funky bass lines, and they've spent plenty of time on the road. They've toured the U.S. and shared stages with Gary Clark Jr., Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Buddy Guy and the late B.B. King. They've also played the Chicago Blues Festival, Austin City Limits, the Kerrville Folk Festival and the King Biscuit Festival. Much of their following grew from a standing-room-only weekly residency at the Continental Club, and critics have called them "the future of Austin music."
