The Jay Moeller Extravaganza

Jay Moeller plays C-Boy's Heart & Soul Bar on Wednesday, September 2, starting at 6:30 PM. He's one half of The Moeller Brothers, and this is a solo outing. He describes the set as a garage mix of raw blues, soul and rock and roll.

Moeller's history with the music goes back to when his father brought home an old set of drums. From there, he and his brother worked their way through the family record collection and came across Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo, the Rolling Stones and the Kinks—a discovery that shaped their sound. The Moeller Brothers have spent years backing acts like Lazy Lester, Sam Myers, James Cotton and LouAnn Barton, and they're current members of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. This set draws from that same raw, garage-inflected tradition.

C-Boy's Heart & Soul Bar is a music lounge that features live music seven days a week, introduced by The Continental Club's Steve Wertheimer. It's located at 2008 S Congress Ave. The night is 21+ only, and there's no cover.
