Tenth anniversary of The Front Festival with workshops, talks and live sets by women and LGBTQ+ musicians.
The Front Festival returns to Swan Dive on Friday, August 29, as part of its tenth anniversary. It's an end-of-summer community festival curated by Future Front, built around putting Texas women and LGBTQ+ artists at the front of its lineups across music, film, and art, in partnership with the Red River Cultural District. This year marks a decade of the festival, and all ticket sales go toward Future Front's programs, which have distributed $1 million in creative commissions and honorariums over the last ten years.
The night is split into two halves. From 6 to 9 PM, the focus is on workshops and talks: a Femme House Ableton workshop, an Independent Artist Talk with Jessy Wilson McFarlin and BabiDoll, and a 'Building Your Own Stages' session with Lynn and Erinn Knight. From 9 to 11 PM, the musical acts take over, with Lynn, BabiDoll, and Majesty of Divinity on the bill.

Between the sets, Tito's Handmade Vodka is pouring festival cocktails all night, and there's a Future Front shop stocked with merch and a screenprinted tote and tee by Austin artist and curator Leah Kearse. Doors open at 6 PM, and the whole thing runs through 11 PM. Tickets are $20, with pre-sale passes available.
