The Chicks celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album Taking the Long Way with a live concert, performing the album in its entirety followed by hits from their catalog.
The Chicks are playing Bass Concert Hall on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, as part of their Taking the Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour. The lineup is the one you know: Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Strayer. The show starts at 8:30 PM.
The night is built around one record. They're playing Taking the Long Way in its entirety, from start to finish, which is the first time they've ever done the whole album live. Once they've run through it, they'll close the set with hits from across their catalog. If you've only ever heard the radio singles, this is your chance to hear the full sequence as it was recorded.
There's a bit of history behind the album they're celebrating. Taking the Long Way came out in 2006, topped the Billboard 200, and earned them five Grammys, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. The three of them have thirteen Grammys in total. After nearly a 14-year hiatus, they returned with their fifth studio album, Gaslighter, in July 2020, which they co-produced with Jack Antonoff. This tour brings them back to the record that defined that middle era of their career.
