The Austin Chamber Music Center presents the beloved holiday classic A Charlie Brown Christmas, a family-friendly stage adaptation of the Peanuts comic strip.
The Austin Chamber Music Center brings back A Charlie Brown Christmas on Sunday, December 13, at Bass Concert Hall. It's an annual holiday tradition for them, and for a lot of local families, it's become a regular part of the city's December calendar.
The performance is built around Vince Guaraldi's jazz-inflected score, with the gentle warmth of "Christmas Time Is Here" and the joyful bounce of "Linus and Lucy" alongside a curated program of holiday classics. The ACMC ensemble is known for its intimate sound, and that's what carries the show. This year, the lineup is Mela Dailey on vocals, Sandy Yamamoto on violin, Utah Hamrick on bass, Ross Margitza on piano, and David Sierra on drums. It's a live, family-friendly stage performance that brings the beloved Peanuts holiday tale to the stage.
