The Best Drag Show Ever is back at Oilcan's this Saturday, September 19, with doors opening at 9 PM and the show starting at 9:30 PM. The venue, formerly Oilcan Harry's, is at 211 W. Fourth St in downtown Austin. It's a 21+ night, and the entry is free, though you'll need to RSVP first.
Ritzy Bitz hosts the evening. She's a pint-sized powerhouse who's built her name in Austin on high-energy comedy, dancing, and live singing. The show is built around non-stop entertainment, and the crowd is expected to sing, dance, and laugh until they cry while cocktails and mocktails flow. Joining her are Justice, Ryan, DeeGee Rey, Celia Light, Emerald Van Cartier, and Evah Destruction.
Oilcan's is billed as the home of the show and is known around town as "the tidiest dance club in Texas." It's picked up several Best of Austin Awards over the years, including Readers Poll - Best Drag Show in 2015. The night is pitched as a place for everyone: whether you're celebrating a birthday or a bachelor or bachelorette party, or just attending your first drag show. Flash photography is mandatory, drinking is fundamental, and there's a chance to be named Oilcan Harry's Next Top Drag Model Supreme. Tip your entertainers in singles; the hostess covers it if you don't.
