The Aquabats! and The Interrupters

The Aquabats! are playing ACL Live at the Moody Theater on Monday, March 22, 2027, with The Interrupters opening. It's a punk rock double bill at one of the city's biggest stages, and if you've never seen the Bats live, it's a good place to start.

Formed in 1994 in Orange County, The Aquabats have spent three decades playing punk rock's superheroes. They're known for the costumes—Paul Frank-designed power belts, rash guards, black eye masks, and anti-negativity helmets—and for the onstage antics that go along with them. Their early records include The Return of the Aquabats (1996), The Fury of the Aquabats! (1997), and The Aquabats vs. The Floating Eye of Death (1999). In 2012, they branched out into television with The Aquabats! Super Show!, a live-action musical action-comedy on the Hub Network that earned a Daytime Emmy. They celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2024 with FINALLY!, an album funded by their fans.

The current lineup features Christian Jacobs as The MC Bat Commander, Chad Larson as Crash McLarson, Ian Fowles as Eaglebones Falconhawk, Richard Falomir as Ricky Fitness, and James Briggs as Jimmy the Robot. They'll be sharing the bill with The Interrupters, so you'll get two punk acts in one night.

The show is at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, 310 W Willie Nelson Blvd, Austin, TX 78701, starting at 7 PM.
