Texas Longhorns women's soccer takes on Baylor at Mike A. Myers Soccer Stadium on Thursday, August 27, at 7 PM. It's an in-state clash and one of the home games the Longhorns have on the books this fall.
There's a lot of new ground for the team to cover this season. This is their first year in the SEC, and they're playing a 17-game regular season, eight of those at Mike A. Myers. It's a tough slate: nine of their opponents made the 2025 NCAA Tournament, so they'll be tested early and often.
Leading the charge is head coach Margueritte Bates, who comes to Austin from UCLA. She made a name for herself there as the first rookie head coach to win the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship in 2022, and she put up a 67-13-9 record over four seasons, picking up two Pac-12 Coach of the Year honors along the way. This match is one of her first home games in charge.
