Still Tumbling 4U - An Indie Sapphic Pop Night

DJ Spectre Moon takes over Cheer Up Charlies on Saturday, September 19, for Still Tumbling 4U, a sapphic indie pop night. It runs from 9 PM to 2 AM, so it's a late-night one that carries through to the early hours.

The music is the whole point here. Spectre Moon is spinning a wide range of pop and indie, with a heavy lean toward the queer and the danceable. You'll hear MUNA, Charli XCX, and Chappell Roan, alongside Hemlock Springs, Kelela, The Beaches, Remi Wolf, Magdalena Bay, and Rebecca Black. The set also pulls in Six Sex, Bebe Rexha, Slayyyter, Kali Uchis, Ninajirachi, Shygirl, Kim Petras, Cobrah, PinkPantheress, FKA Twigs, Rose Gray, and MARINA, with more mixed in throughout the night.

It's a broad reach—from the polished pop of Bebe Rexha and Kim Petras to the more experimental edges of FKA Twigs and Shygirl, with the indie-pop of MUNA and Chappell Roan tying it together. If you've spent the last few years following the current wave of queer pop, a lot of those names will be familiar. The mix of hyperpop, dance, and indie pop means the energy should shift as the night goes on, from the more melodic stuff to the heavier dance floor tracks.

Cheer Up Charlies is an 'Ambiguous Everybody space,' an LGBTQIA & friends hangout for music, art, dance, and partying, with local kombucha on tap. The venue opens Monday nights at 6 PM and Tuesday through Sunday at 4 PM, running until 2 AM. Still Tumbling 4U is free all night—no cover—and runs from 9 PM to 2 AM on Saturday, September 19, at 900 Red River.
