Independence Brewing co-founder Amy Cartwright celebrates IPA Day with the original poster at Crown & Anchor Pub.
Independence Brewing co-founder Amy Cartwright is spending IPA Day at Crown and Anchor Pub on Thursday, August 6, from 4 PM to 8 PM. It's a homecoming of sorts: Cartwright is returning to her old college hangout, and she's bringing the original poster with her.
There's a bit of Austin history baked into the whole thing. Stash is an Austin original, and Crown and Anchor is a campus original—the kind of place that's been around since before the city's 'Keep Austin Weird' slogan became a thing. Cartwright spent her college years here, and this is her coming back to the spot where it all started, this time as a co-founder of one of the city's breweries.

If you're into the beer scene here, it's a good chance to catch up with someone who's been in it from the inside. The event runs for four hours, so there's plenty of time to grab a drink and hang out without having to rush in and out. It's at Crown and Anchor, 2911 San Jacinto Boulevard, on August 6 from 4 PM to 8 PM.
