A queer country dance night featuring line dancing, tunes by Ed West, and dance lessons from Country Fried Dance, themed around Dolly Parton.
The Highball hosts Dolly Disco Night on Friday, September 25, from 8 PM to 11:55 PM. It's part of STAMPEDE, a queer country dance series put on by Neon Rainbows. The night is built around the date 9-2-5, so the whole thing is dedicated to Dolly Parton, the self-styled queen of country, with Dolly Disco and line dance favorites playing all night.
Ed West is on the tunes, and Country Fried Dance is there with lessons that run from beginner-friendly up to intermediate and advanced, so you can get your footing before you hit the floor. The Highball is at 1120 S. Lamar Blvd, one of the city's most beloved entertainment venues, known for its themed karaoke rooms, shoulder-to-shoulder dance parties, and interactive nights like Geeks Who Drink, Cards Against Humanity, and Tittie Bingo, along with country and Motown bands on its stage. The night is strictly 21+.
