Snarky Puppy

Snarky Puppy play ACL Live at The Moody Theater on Monday, October 19, 2026. They're a five-time Grammy-winning collective led by bassist and bandleader Michael League, and this is a headline date in Austin.

If you're not familiar with how they work, the group draws from funk, rhythm & blues, hard rock, classic soul, modern gospel, new tech, fusion, and jazz. League describes them as a collective that defies simple categorization as a jazz, fusion, or jam band. Over the years, the ensemble has shifted from being "jazzier, brainy and music oriented" to a sound that's groovier and more emotional.

They're coming off a recent reunion with the Netherlands-based Metropole Orkest. The two collaborated in January 2025, a decade after their 2015 orchestral suite Sylva won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. The result of that reunion, Somni, came out in November 2025 via GroundUP Music. Between that and the five Grammys they've picked up over the years, there's plenty of material to pull from for a single night.
