Rochelle & The Sidewinders play Half Full Bar on Saturday, October 3, with the set running from 9 PM to 11:55 PM. The venue is the old Skylark Lounge, 2039 Airport Blvd in Austin.
They're an Austin blues rock band that's been around since the summer of 2015, fronted by Rochelle Creone, who goes by the name 'Texas Songbird' — a dynamic and striking vocalist. The band has put out three full-length CDs, so there's a fair amount of their own material to pull from for a night like this.
They've spent the last decade picking up awards along the way. They won the Austin Blues Society's 'Heart of Texas Blues Challenge' two years in a row, and took home the San Angelo 'Simply Texas Blues Challenge' in the Duo category. They've also made it to the semi-finals twice at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, which is one of the bigger stages for the genre. The lineup around Creone includes Steven Campbell, Karen Biller, Tom Coplen, and Jim Trimmier.
