Return To Planet Casper with David Grissom, Roscoe Beck and Brannen Temple

Casper Rawls returns to The Continental Club on Thursday, September 24, with David Grissom, Roscoe Beck and Brannen Temple. It's the next installment of Return To Planet Casper, the series he's been running with different guests.

Rawls is from Helotes, Texas, and he's often described as a musician's musician. That's a fair way to put it, because his shows tend to go beyond the stage: he shares his love of music with fellow musicians and an audience of friends, erupting into a classic yet unpredictable Casper solo before stepping back to let others shine. He spends a good part of the night trading licks with his special guests, and this time around those guests are David Grissom, Roscoe Beck and Brannen Temple. If you've seen him before, you know the format—he's the center of the room, but he's just as happy to hand the spotlight over to the people he's playing with.

It's a night built around that kind of back-and-forth, so the guest list matters.
