Annual Pride Parade watch party with AC, DJ performances and drinks to view the parade from Congress Ave.
The Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Pride Parade watch party at Speakeasy on Saturday, August 22, as part of the Austin Pride festivities. It's presented alongside HRC Austin and Avita Care Solutions, and the whole thing is pitched as a way to beat the heat while you watch the parade go by on Congress Avenue. The venue is air-conditioned, there are cold drinks for purchase, and you can pop in and out whenever you like, so you don't have to commit to staying inside the whole time.
DJ XOY is on the decks, and the party runs from 8 PM to midnight. If you get there early, Deep Eddy is giving a complimentary Espresso Martini to the first 200 people through the door. Kind Clinic will also be on-site providing free HIV and STI testing throughout the night. Delta Air Lines has an activation area and a photo booth set up, and the event is supported by inKind, Gilead Sciences, and Deep Eddy Vodka. If you're heading downtown for the parade anyway, you can stop by before, during, or after.
