Plant Swap and Plant Giveaway with Seedy Society

Seedy Society is hosting a plant swap and giveaway at the Austin Public Library Terrazas Branch on Wednesday, August 5, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a community exchange where you can trade or gift healthy plants, and the society will be distributing rehabilitated ones of their own. The event runs every first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM, so if you can't make this one, there's another chance coming up soon.

If you're coming to swap, bring healthy, pest-free plant babies—cuttings, pups, or whole plants. You're also welcome to bring plant supplies like pots, soil, and tools to trade or give away. The whole point is to keep plants moving and find new homes for them, so whether you're looking to thin out your collection or pick up something new, there's a place for you here.

Seedy Society is a not-for-profit dedicated to the recovery and rehabilitation of live plants and to making greenery accessible to all communities. They recover plants from environments where they can no longer thrive, nurse them back to health, and then distribute them. That's where the giveaway part comes in: they'll have rehabilitated plants on hand to share with whoever stops by.

The event is free and open to the public, held at the Terrazas Branch, 1105 E. César Chávez St., from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
