PFL Austin arrives at the Moody Center on Saturday, July 18, marking the Professional Fighters League's first visit to the city. The main event is a rematch between Johnny Eblen and Impa Kasanganay for the Interim Middleweight World Title. It's a high-stakes one: the winner will be crowned the first Interim World Champion in PFL history.
This fight wasn't the original plan. Eblen was first scheduled to face Costello van Steenis for the title, but van Steenis had to withdraw due to injury, and Kasanganay stepped in to take his place. It's not the first time these two have shared a cage, either. They met at PFL vs. Bellator in August 2024, and Eblen came away with a split decision victory. This is the rematch to settle it.
Beyond the main event, the card features a featherweight bout between Jesus Pinedo and Joey Ruquet. Pinedo is coming off a big win as the 2023 PFL Featherweight Tournament winner, so he's entering this one with some momentum behind him. Between the title fight and the featherweight clash, there's enough on the bill to keep you watching through the night.
