Patio Sessions - Austin Pride Month Edition

Patio Sessions returns to Highland Lounge on Sunday, August 23, for an Austin Pride Month edition. This one is a patio party with live music from @she23.music, running from 4 PM to 8 PM.

If you're wondering why we're celebrating Pride in August, it's because Austin does its own thing. While Pride Month is June across the U.S., Austin holds its official celebrations in August. This session is part of that citywide window, and the organizers are leaning into the timing: "the kids might've gone back to school, but we still outside!" they say, inviting people to "do hood rat things with ya hood rat friends for Austin Pride."

It's a good time to be out in the city. The weekend's main event is the Austin Pride Festival & Parade at Fiesta Gardens, with the free public parade marching from the Texas State Capitol Building down Congress to the Ann Richards Bridge. To give you a sense of the scale, the Foundation and the City of Austin have reported more than 400,000 attendees at the Festival and Parade in previous years.
