Performance by the house band at the intimate Parker Jazz Club venue in downtown Austin.
Parker Jazz Club House Band plays at Parker Jazz Club on Tuesday, September 1, starting at 7:30 PM. It's a house band night, which means the room's regulars are the ones taking the stage rather than a touring act.
The club is owned by musician Kris Kimura, who Jeff Kashiwa once called the 'Woodwind Samurai.' He plays clarinets, flutes, and saxophones, and also picks up the ukulele, trumpet, and flugelhorn, along with award-winning vocals. He's the one behind the house band, and the room is built around that kind of multi-instrumental reach. It's a 21+ space, and the setup is simple: soft candlelight, moody lighting, and every seat facing a center stage. If you can't make it in person, many shows are livestreamed at parkerjazzclub.com/livestream, and online donations go to the Texas Jazz Society, a local nonprofit.

This isn't a one-off, either. The house band also plays on the following Tuesday, and on Friday and Saturday nights, so if you miss this one, there are plenty of other chances to catch them. The club is at 117 W. Fourth Ste. 107-B in downtown Austin, and the music starts at 7:30 PM.
