An emo-album drag tribute show to Panic! At The Disco's debut album, hosted by Austin drag artist Brigitte Bandit.
Brigitte Bandit is bringing a drag tribute to Panic! At The Disco's debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, to Elysium on Friday, September 4. It's an emo-album night, and Bandit is hosting it with a cast of local drag artists. The whole thing is part of the Do512 LGBTQ+ series.
If you know the album, you know the vibe. A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is the one that put Panic! on the map—the theatrical, vaudeville-tinged sound that defined a whole era of mid-2000s emo. This isn't a cover band, though; it's a drag show built around it, so expect the songs to be the backdrop for a night of drag performances rather than a straight-through concert. There's also a themed photobooth on site, and @izzygazette will be taking photos throughout the night.
Brigitte Bandit is the one putting it together. She's an award-winning drag queen, show host, producer, and queer activist who's become a prominent figure in Texas's LGBTQ+ movement and a frequent voice against performance-ban legislation. She's a regular on the Austin scene, and this is her bringing a cast of local drag artists together for the tribute.
