Paint Your Pup!

Paint Your Pup! is happening this Thursday, August 13, at Thicket Food Park in Austin. It's a pet painting session where you spend the evening painting a portrait of your dog, and since it's a Thursday, it's a creative way to break up the work week.

The whole point is right there in the name: you bring a photo of your dog and spend the session turning it into a painting. It's a guided activity, so you don't need to be an experienced artist to get through it. You'll be working on your own canvas, focusing on your dog's portrait, and you'll leave with the finished piece. The session runs from 6 PM to 8 PM, which is two full hours to work on your painting.

Because it's at Thicket Food Park, you're in a spot where you can grab food and drinks while you paint. It's a food park, so there are multiple vendors to choose from, and you can pick up whatever you're in the mood for and bring it back to your table. The painting takes place outdoors, and the two-hour window gives you plenty of time to work on your dog's portrait without feeling rushed.

It's a recurring thing, too—Paint Your Pup! runs every Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM, so if this particular Thursday doesn't work for you, there's another one next week. Entry is $12.
