Over the Top Benefit

Over the Top Benefit takes over Cheer Up Charlies on Saturday, August 29, from 9 PM to 2 AM. Presented by Aries, it's a one-night-only fundraiser for her top surgery and recovery, framed as a celebration of her birthday and one year of sobriety. For the night, the venue transforms into a carnival, with drag and pole performances, live bands, DJs, carnival games, a dunk tank, and vendors. Attendees are encouraged to dress on theme.

The lineup features Losers, an Austin-based act, alongside skinni, vaun, and pai. Between the music and the performances, the carnival side of the night takes center stage: the dunk tank, the games, and the vendors run throughout the evening, so you can move between the stage and the activities as you please. The whole thing is built around a single cause, with the funds raised going toward Aries' surgery and recovery.

Cheer Up Charlies, at 900 Red River Street, is an 'Ambiguous Everybody space'—an LGBTQIA & friends hangout for music, art, and dance, with local kombucha on tap. Tickets are $13.54, and the night runs from 9 PM until 2 AM.
