Weekly open mic night for musical performances at the Speakeasy venue in Austin's Warehouse District.
Speakeasy holds its open mic every Monday night in the Warehouse District, with the sign-up sheet going out at 8:30 PM and the music starting at 9:00 PM. It's a music-only night—no comedy—and each performer gets about two songs or ten minutes on stage. If you're playing, you can bring your own backing tracks via iPhone lightning or USB3 cable, and there's a house guitar available if you don't want to lug yours in. Sign-ups are in person only, so you'll need to be there early to get your name on the list.
It's part of a full week of music at the venue: Open Mic Mondays are hosted by @moderndaymidas, Wednesday is 80s night with @thespazmaticstx, Friday is 90s night, and Sing-Along Saturdays are run by @thelonestarsouvenirs. Speakeasy is also known for its New Year's Eve party, which it has thrown every year since 1997.
