Country music band Ola performs live at the Midtown venue Buddy's Place.
Ola is playing Buddy's Place on Monday, September 7, and they're not just stopping by for one night. This is the first of three sessions, with the same act returning on September 14 and September 21. All three fall on a Monday, so if you can't make the first one, you've got two more chances over the next few weeks.
Buddy's Place is a BYOB honky-tonk dive bar in Midtown Austin, and it's not exactly a music venue by trade. It's described as a slice of small-town hospitality with a side of redneck and country, and live music isn't a staple there. On a typical night, you'll find regulars dancing to the country-packed jukebox, playing shuffleboard, and hanging out. Having a scheduled run of shows like this is a bit of a departure from the usual routine.
If you're planning to go, keep a couple of things in mind. First, it's BYOB, so you bring your own drinks. Second, the venue is 21 and up, so make sure you've got your ID on you. The shows start at 5 PM, which is early for a Monday night, so you'll be in and out while the rest of the city is still at their desks.

With three dates on the calendar—September 7, 14, and 21—you can pick the one that works best for you, or catch more than one if you're feeling it. Each session kicks off at 5 PM at Buddy's Place, 8619 Burnet Rd. in Midtown.
