Country Fried Dance is back at Elysium on Thursday, August 20, with Now That's What I Call G-G-G-Gay, an 18+ line dance party that's part of their Neon Rainbows queer line-dance series. The night is built for queers and allies, and it's described as a no-stakes, joy-focused party. The format is straightforward: newbie-friendly line dance lessons are offered on a rolling basis throughout the evening, with all-levels social dancing in between. If you've never line danced before, you can jump into a lesson and then take what you've learned straight to the floor.
The music is a big part of the draw here. The organizers run a community list where dancers can request and upvote queer songs and artists, and the playlist for the night is billed as their gayest one yet. Between the lessons, the floor stays open for social dancing, so you can dance as much or as little as you like.
Country Fried Dance has built a local following with these lessons and parties. The group was featured on the cover of the Austin Chronicle in November 2025, and the event also appeared in Austin Monthly's Spring issue. This party is one installment of Neon Rainbows, their ongoing queer line-dance series.

It runs from 8 PM to 11:59 PM at Elysium, 705 Red River in downtown Austin. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, and it's 18+.
