Evening of neighbourhood connection with local makers, complimentary drinks, and live music at Open House Austin.
Open House Austin hosts another Night Market & Porch Pour this Wednesday, August 26, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It's a recurring thing—the last Wednesday of every month—and the format stays the same: a casual evening of neighborhood connection, local shopping, and good company. You start on the porch with a complimentary welcome drink, then head inside to browse a rotating lineup of local makers and small businesses. The vendors change from month to month, so if you missed out last time, there's a good chance you'll find something different this go-around.
This month adds a specific activity to the mix. There's a display of vintage typewriters on site, and the organizers are inviting passers-by to sit down and type a letter, a poem, or a haiku and take it home with them. It's a low-stakes way to spend a few minutes—something to do while you're hanging out between browsing the tables.

Music runs throughout the evening, provided by the Eastside Kings Festival and Typewriter Social. Between the live sets and the typewriter display, there's plenty to do if you're not in a rush to get through the market. It's free to attend, so you can drop in for a drink and a quick look or settle in for the full two hours. The whole thing runs from 6 PM to 8 PM at Open House Austin.
