An all-ages community stroll run by Rainbow Connections ATX on the Mueller Lake Park trails, a low-key evening for LGBTQIA2+ individuals and older adults to connect.
Rainbow Connections ATX brings back the Monthly Queer Walk on Wednesday, August 19, at Mueller Lake Park & Amphitheater. This is the Summer Nights edition, the final one of the season, as the walk runs on the third Wednesday of June, July, and August.
It's a straightforward, all-ages community stroll. The group meets near the restrooms in the Mueller Lake Park parking lot and sets off at a strolling pace along the paved trails that loop the lake. The route is about 2.6 miles on mostly crushed gravel, timed to catch the cooler dusk breeze and an Austin sunset. RCATX describes it as a low-key, no-pressure evening for LGBTQIA2+ individuals and older adults to connect, with no registration needed and a light rain or shine policy. The walk is open to everyone from ages 18 to 110, and they pitch it as a safe, inclusive space for socializing, advocacy, and community building.
