Weekly late-night jazz jam session at Monks Jazz Club, led by local musician Daniel Dufour, open to musicians and listeners.
Daniel Dufour leads the Monks Wednesday Jazz Jam at Monks Jazz Club, 310 E. Saint Elmo in Austin South. It's a weekly fixture that's been running for a long time, with Dufour opening the stage and leading the room, though an occasional guest will take the helm. The jam is open to everyone: you can sit in and play, bring your own instrument, or just settle in with a drink and listen.
It's a late-night session, and the club streams it live to their YouTube channel, so you can catch it from home if you can't make it in person. Minors have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and there's free parking in the area. The venue is now a full-service bar and no longer BYOB.
