Electronic music DJ set by Mikey Barreneche as part of The Morning Spin house music activation at NAYA.
Mikey Barreneche takes over NAYA on Saturday, September 26, as part of The Morning Spin, the house music series that's built its name on doing things when most people are still waking up. It's a morning DJ set in the middle of downtown, and if you've been around the scene here, you know the drill: house music, coffee, and specialty cocktails to keep you going while the sun is actually up.
Barreneche is the main draw, and he's not the only one on the decks. The session runs from 11 AM to 2 PM, with Fabian Gerard opening things off from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. Barreneche takes over from there, playing from 12:30 PM to 2 PM. It's a three-hour window of house music, so you can roll in early and catch both, or just show up for the second half. The Morning Spin describes itself as one of the fastest-growing morning music activations in the country, and this is another one of those sessions that puts the dance floor in the daylight.
Beyond the music, there's a few other things to keep in mind. The venue is NAYA, at 506 West Ave in downtown Austin. It's a ticketed event, and it's restricted to over-21s, so you'll need your ID. Along with the music, they'll have coffee, specialty cocktails, and exclusive Mushroom Cowboy merchandise on hand. If you're planning to be there for the whole thing, the doors open at 10:45 AM, fifteen minutes before the music starts.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, plus tax and service fees. With the set running from 11 AM to 2 PM, it's a late-morning commitment rather than a late-night one. If you're in the city and want to spend your Saturday morning on a dance floor, this is where you'll find it.
