OMG Squee is hosting its Mid-Autumn Festival Full Moon Party on Friday, September 25, at its spot on Bolm Road. The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, is a Chinese harvest festival tied to a lunisolar date and celebrated as an occasion of family, harvest, and mooncakes. It's one of the big ones in the Chinese calendar, and this party is OMG Squee's way of bringing that tradition to Austin.
The food and drink pop-ups are the center of the night. You'll find mochi donuts, Asian-flavored soft serve, and halo-halo ice cream, and there's a gluten-free mooncake lantern box set available for pre-order if you want to secure yours before the party. Adult beverages will be on hand as well, so it works as a late-night dessert run or a full evening out. Beyond the eats, there's an artist market curated by Kaiju Cut and Sew and open Mahjong tiles from Mahjong Mafia for anyone who wants to sit down and play a few rounds.
